ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) is also called ESL (English as a Second Language) or ELL (English Language Learners) are students who need additional support to learn academic English. We focus on reading, writing, speaking, and listening in order to prepare students for the state standardized testing (Smarter Balance), the ELPA, and especially the real world.
This year, we are using new curriculum by National Geographic.
Students are also required to read different texts including both fiction and non-fiction books. Students may manage their books here. Student usernames are their firstnamelastinitial (all one word). For example: JoseB. Passwords are student ID numbers.
***Please note that student assignments vary depending on the student English level and grade level. This means the calendar may not be updated often as to reduce confusion. Assignments that are similar to all levels will show up on the calendar.***
All assignments are done in class and must remain in class.
