Culinary Arts is designed to prepare students for work in the restaurant and hospitality industry. Students study safety and sanitation, food safety, gain knife skills, learn culinary basics, cake/cookie decorating, and become familiar with all areas of restaurant operations. All students are required to have a current food handler's card on site at all times.
This course provides opportunities for students to experience many aspects of operating and managing a food service enterprise and also helps student build good business skills vital to many career fields (including those who may not pursue the culinary industry but value those skills for personal growth). The Tiger Deli, coffee business, and catering opportunities provide students with the experiences to move forward in this industry. This program uses the ProStart curriculum written by the National Restaurant Association. We have a wish list of you would like to donate! Be sure to send us contact information so we can send you a letter for tax deduction purposes and a thank you card!
